Overview

All rules are subject to change at any point, and you are expected to follow the rules even if there is a change. Use common sense, keep it competitive, and keep it respectful.

01

Fair Play

Cheating & Unfair Advantages

All forms of cheating or any other type of unfair advantage are bannable on the Hills network. This includes any client modifications that provide an advantage a regular player would not have.

Examples of unfair advantages or cheats include:

  • Client modifications such as hacked clients.
  • External modifications such as autoclickers, macros, or spoofing software.
  • Methods to attack or place as an autoclicker would, such as keyboard placing.
  • Abuse of unintended bugs or glitches.
  • Multi-version mods that allow you to connect to Hills on unsupported versions.
  • Playing on unsupported devices such as a mobile device (e.g. tablet, phone).
  • Usage of network emulators, a VPN, or a proxy to artificially modify or increase your latency.

For a list of unsupported or disallowed mods, see the Unsupported and Disallowed Client Mods sections below.

In the event of an appeal, staff members are not required to and will not provide any evidence that led to your punishment. However, all punishments are reviewed by a different staff member to ensure fairness and eliminate bias.

02

Community

Player Interactions

Players are expected to use common sense and remain respectful.

Representatives of the community (e.g. Media or Famous rank) are held at higher standards. We will apply stricter expectations to you.

The following behaviour is strictly forbidden on Hills and will result in a punishment:

  • Attempting to bypass any of our chat filters.
  • Sharing any personal information about a player in chat, including their full name, location, or any pictures of the user.
  • Lying to any staff member in any Hills-affiliated service, including tickets and public chat.
  • Making any sort of threats, including doxing, DDoS threats, or swatting. Even as a joke, threats are disallowed.
  • Flooding or spamming public chats with unreasonably long or repeated messages.
  • Advertising any product, server, or service. This includes posting a Server IP or Discord link in our chats.
  • Posting inappropriate or malicious content, including any NSFW material.
  • Creating excessive tickets in our Discord with the same subject.
  • Defaming any individual affiliated with Hills without any sort of evidence.
  • Interrupting any sort of 1v1 in an FFA gamemode.
  • Boosting stats (e.g. farming a friend for kills).
  • Any attempt to bypass a punishment given on Hills.
  • Causing excessive amounts of unwanted drama in our public chats.
  • Breaking the Terms of Service of Discord.
  • Harassing users or staff members.

Leaking any information about the server, if you are part of a team with access to it, is strictly prohibited.

Punishments on other accounts in the same household or sharing the same IP may also be applied to your account.

03

Proximity VC

Voice Chat

Hills supports the usage of Simple Voice Chat for proximity voice chat between players. All rules listed in Player Interactions also apply to voice chat.

Additional prohibited behaviour includes:

  • Usage of any kind of voice changer.
  • Disturbing or excessive usage of soundboards that may disrupt conversation.
  • Intentional loud or disruptive noise, such as a loud music track or microphone.

As is in Player Interactions, Hills management reserves the right to address any conduct deemed harmful or disruptive to the community.

04

Getting Help

Support Tickets

All players seeking support from the Hills team are required to follow the ticket rules. If these rules are broken, the ticket may be closed and/or you may be banned from creating tickets in the future:

  • Pinging any staff member to check your ticket.
  • Forging any type of evidence against a user.
  • Not being patient (e.g. messaging in the ticket every hour to get attention).
  • Reopening tickets after the previous ticket was already dealt with (e.g. after an appeal is denied, reopening an appeal with the same punishment).
  • Privately messaging staff members to check your ticket.
  • Lying in tickets.
  • Disrespecting or harassing a staff member in a ticket.
  • Inappropriate comments inside of a ticket.
  • Impersonating another user or player in a ticket. This may result in a blacklist in-game as well.

Reporting staff members should be done through a staff report ticket. All reports require valid evidence — do not open a ticket and ask staff members to check any sort of logs for your report.

All evidence for reports must be on the Hills PvP Network (in our Discord or on our server).

After a ticket is dealt with, it will be closed. You can check the ticket transcript in your private messages if they were enabled when your ticket was deleted.

05

Your Account

Account Security

Account sharing on the Hills network is entirely at your own risk. Any actions made on your account will be assumed to be done by you. If the account is punished while being shared, then the punishment will remain. This includes, but is not limited to, account sharing with friends or family.

If your account is compromised, we will not restore any part of your profile, including but not limited to guilds and stats.

06

Purchases

Store

All purchases made on the Hills store are final. Any form of chargeback will result in a blacklist from Hills until the issue is resolved. All store purchases must be made with your own money or with the consent of a parent or guardian.

We do not offer rank transfers under any circumstances. All ranks are tied to accounts, not individual users. If you lose access to your account, you should not expect a rank transfer or refund.

07

Names & Tags

Guilds

Rules listed in Player Interactions also apply to guild names and tags. Guild names or tags may be returned in certain conditions.

To request a returned guild name or tag, all of the following must be met:

  • Your guild must have 50,000 guild points.
  • Your guild must have 150 members.
  • Your guild leader must create a ticket requesting the name or tag to be returned.
08

Use At Own Risk

Unsupported Client Mods

Some mods may result in a worsened gameplay experience due to problems with how the mods are made, or how they behave.

We will not go out of our way to ban players using these mods, though they may interfere with cheat detection systems, resulting in punishments.

Here are some examples of mods that are unsupported:

  • Mods that allow you to connect to Hills using a version not officially supported, such as ViaFabric.
  • “Optimizer” mods that try to improve some parts of gameplay. This includes Crystal, Hotbar, Consumable, or any other optimizers targeting gameplay enhancement. This does not include performance optimizers, which are typically completely safe to use.
  • Mods that allow you to use unsupported input devices, such as touchscreens or controllers.
09

Bannable

Disallowed Client Mods

These are mods that we explicitly disallow being used on Hills. Being caught logging in with or using any of these will result in a punishment.

  • Any mods that allow you to manage your inventory faster or in a different way than Vanilla Minecraft does. Examples include Mouse Tweaks, item scrollers, and inventory sorting mods.
  • Mods which automate clicking, such as autoclickers.
  • Mods which artificially change your ping.
